Located on the Haute-Viene/Dordogne border, this area of rural France is ideal for those seeking a tranquil holiday, with places to visit within an easy drive

The beautiful market town of St Yrieix la Perche is 5km away, it has quaint shops, restaurants and historic buildings and also has a market which is held on the second and fourth Friday of the month. A large lake with swimming and sunbathing facilities can be found on the outskirts of St Yreix.

There are chateaus at Jumilhac le Grand, Coussac Bonneval and Pompadour, famous for its stud farm, dressage and racing.

The ancient village of Segur-le-Chateau is on our doorstep, where you can visit the ruins of the once glorious Chateau, the town has a peaceful river flowing through. Why not take a riverside picnic or visit the restaurant, in July and August there are evening markets with barbeques and lively traditional music.

The small cites of Limoges Brive and Perigueux are all within 1-hour drive and for those who play there are excellent golf courses in the area
